CHOIR MUSIC
Once the irregular life on the road was replaced by a life within a fantastic community, the desire to start a choir was quickly formed. On a weekly basis a group of enthusiastic people meet to sing their hearts out. This Cape Choir has been an inspiring canvas for me to write arrangements of certain songs for them. In the Music Shop you can find zip files that have the score + all individual parts + MP3s of the complete song + MP3s of the separate parts and (often) a bonus track.
A Day In The Life Of A Fool - SAM
A fantastic song from the beautiful Brazilian movie "Orfeo Negro". The piece is also known as "Manha de Carnaval", or "Black Orpheus". The melody is sung through the different voices.
Missing You - SAM
A slow bolero in fact with the melody moving between the sopranos and the altos. A nice clear ritenuto at the end is very effective..

In The Wee Small Hours - SAM
This beautiful 50s tune works very well for 3 parts. I often have my choir sing the first three notes, till it sounds good. After that: off we go.
Serenity - SAM
Very slow and serene. This song tries to reflect a state of stillness. Be very careful in bar 4 (2 lower voices). Also bar 7-8 is a real challenge for the altos.
